Re: Bombay ride plans

Anyone up for Wright Stuff Century?  First deadline is July 1.  I may volunteer the day before for road markings since it makes the ride free.
Also, on this Fish Lake Fling, it's a nice ride, but last year I did it most solo.
It was very lonely...

Re: Bombay ride plans

We should be in for the WSC not sure what the plan is yet. Tandem for unknown distance is likely due to Jen's knee issue and my lack of riding still continuing despite no big running plans either.

Fish Lake is a possibility since I don't see myself signing up for the Insane Terrain at the last minute with the mileage I've got in.

Re: Bombay ride plans

I signed up to volunteer the day before the ride (packet stuffing) and then if I am still up to it will do the 60 (although I didn't get a confirmation e-mail from Active).  That's the beauty of volunteering - if I wimp out (or it's pouring rain day of ride), I didn't lose any money on the deal.

Too bad about the knee.  Hopefully whatever it is won't lead down the road to surgery.

Looking at tandem for 65 miles on Sunday with Jenny, see you there until we fall off the back.

Re: Bombay ride plans

Hey, I slowed down for you guys to catch up (at least I thought I saw you back there), and stopped at the top of Enchanted Valley, but then I didn't see you guys again.  Sorry about that.  I went 54 with 2-3 other women.  Nice ride.  I'm probably doing Aztalan Odyssey next (July 26).  Shanana, maybe the CHO will let you go - I know you've wanted to this ride for a few years - I'm going to try to make a century out of it with the ride to and from the start (and a little extra at the end).

I just not meant to ride Aztalan. I'll be out of town for a family wedding that weekend.

Re: Bombay ride plans

Well after accomplishing my annual century goal (and off today lounging at home) I'm looking at the following BBC rides to close out the season (at least I'm interested in them, but not necessarily committed):

Wright Stuff Century (hope my bum knee is better by then), 9/6
Sauk City Sally (short, Sept 13)
Historic Cookville (55, 10/4)
Loops for Lefse (yum, 10/10)
Brooklyn Bop (10/18 - I'm calling it my birthday ride since it was the day before- come along please!)

And I could probably be talked into a number of others if anyone else is going, especially if they start at Lakeview or Vilas - I get my mojo back in the fall with cooler weather.

Re: Bombay ride plans

Well or plan is the WSC medium route unless we get stupid and go for the 100. I may have the boys talked into the Loops For Lefse, come see the tandem plus trail-a-bike rig. Other than that no plan, Sunday school starts soon and my Friday hours make Saturday rides tough. I fhte weather keeps up the Loops ride might be in snow!

I'm only doing the metric.  I am not "stupid" enough to do more than that.
I am definitely interested in seeing tandem + trail-a-bike (for 47 somewhat hilly miles, right?).  If nothing else I'm sure you'll have a good write up.  That's one ride where for the first time I will have to drive to the start because the idea of riding 30 miles back to Madison on a very stomach seems a bit much (12 is bad enough). That meal last year was delicious!

Sekaijin - I think you need to arrange Loops for Lefse as your ride of the month for October!

Everyone should bring the whole family out, we will only be doing the 27 mile route and might start at the church like we did last year. That way no full stomach riding needed.

I've already switched to my warmer shoes and have worn full fingered gloves the last two days.

cminter, still doing loops for lefse?  Starting at church?  What time?
